English, please...

I have heard this comments lots of times lately...it seems that the spanish speaking people is eager to speak spanish and we tend to forget the basics of good manners, not speaking english in front of people from other nationalities...so here I am trying to write in english for the first time ever.

So, now that I am not using the supersecret code of spanish language I really dont know what to say, except that I am starting to understand how easy conflicts that lead to war can appear between communities from different regions, therefore customs, therefore eating habits, hygienic habits and so on... It is simply so damn difficult to get use to something that you have never faced before...

All of a sudden lots of things that could be considered as minor details can become a huge deal between people, starting from the simple action of spoken language...if an accent is difficult to understand, it automatically can become a barrier to language...let alone the words, but the attitute of different people can be understood in completely different contexts. So what do you do in those situations?

First of all, I think we should ask ourselves a simple question. Are we willing to deal with it? Cause if we are not, then we should probably ask how the hell did we ended up in this situation..and if we have no choice we better start looking for ways to handle the situation.

Second of all, it is really easy to get angry and try not to communicate with others, but if reality has taken us to actually leave with people extremely different we have to deal with it and the best approach is perhaps to find the good things about them and also the ways to communicate and express what we like and what we dont.

Or you can always ignore the problem and try to stay as away as possible from the person(s) that bother you or in the worse case scenario get very drunk and shout to their face that you cannot stand their behaviour and that living with them is the worse think that has happened to you since you were born. This last option it is not the best way to handle the situation specially if you have to wake up the day after with a risk of having "that person" anywhere around you.

So, at the end the choice is: enjoy what you can and ignore what you cannot change keeping in mind that this is a temporary and very short situation...

What do you think?

Huele a curry. OOps! Welcome to Bradford. Y si no me gusta oler a curry?
